Dear Tim Mackey,
I have a production environment using XCP (XAPI). As far as I know, the
difference between the use of XAPI and Xenserver is that Xenserver is an OS
bundled altogether with a version of Xen hypervisor, XAPI and some
management tools. While, XAPI is just the API used to consolidate

Hi folks,
I was looking a matrix of Cloudstack compatibility matrix at
http://pt.slideshare.net/TimMackey/hypervisor-31754727,
Slide 25 seemed to show that we cannot have clusters of KVM in CS? Is that
true? Is it possible to live migrate VMs between KVM hosts that are not
clustered in CS?

When it happens I usually go to the CS DB and change the VM status.
However, I have already tried to stop VMs manually using the hypervisor or

Hi folks,
I noticed today that CS system VMs have a running apache webserver
listening ports 80 and 443. I looked at its configs, and it seems to do
nothing. At least, I could not find anything interesting there. Thus, there
was just a default listening on port 80 and 443, with nothing else.

I have and environment running for a while with CS 4.3.1, and today I tried

Actually, you can have CS running on a Xen server host that it is running;
however it is a little bit tricky, because when you add a xen server, the
CS does not load any VM configuration that it already has running.
I did that myself in the Cloud that we have in our networking and
management lab.

I had the same problem, at the end I had to shutdown MS, then destroy the
.vhd file that was created by the CS in the local storage of the clusters
it used to start system vms. Then, you just need to start MS, and destroy
the system vms that were already created.
I was using Xen.

Hi folks,
is there any way to "migrate" a basic network setup to an advanced network
with isolated vlans to storage, management and etc?

Allocation is different from real storage usage.
I would to two things:
First of all, change you storage.overprovisioning.factor for storage
allocation to a higher degree such as 5.
Second of all, I would change
“pool.storage.allocated.capacity.disablethreshold” and
“pool.storage.capacity.disabl

Hi all,
I have a VM that I would like to change its IP addresses, however there is
no way to do that using neither the UI nor the CS API.
I have taken a look at the database, and I think that if I change the VM ip
address in table vm_instance and nics will do the job, I would also need to
update th

Hi folks,
After VMs and/or volumes being migrated from one cluster to another, will
Cloudstack delete the file from the storage of the old cluster?

Hi folks,
I have the following situation, one of my management server went down
before completing some jobs that were assigned to it. It is not possible to
recover that node, what can I do to make the others mgmt servers stop to
try to connect into the mgmt server that is down?

Have you added the new system VM template into the CS before you start the
upgrade process?

My bad, I have not seen your first email. ;)

Does your physical host supports HVM virtual machines?
If I am not mistaken with Xen to boot a VM using an ISO you should have HVM
support enabled.

Hi folks,
I was wondering how a system vm gets an IP address. I know they are the
first things that CS needs in order to start up others VMs, so when they
start there is no virtual router to assign IP addresses via DHCP.
I also noticed that on the physical hosts with the VM.Start command CS

First of all I would like to say that I am sorry if I am bothering you

Hi guys,
I have deleted a volume that had a recurring snapshot set up. I thought
that I would not need to remove the recurring snapshot before I delete the
volume. However, it seems that the recurring snapshot is still there
configured for the volume that no longer exists.
Does anyone know how I c
