Hey, just found a third:

think your idea is both simpler and easier to
implement. Why not start it in the wiki and go from there?

I'm not sure if efforts are already underway. However, there has been
some recent activity in the spice sandbox to set up a componenthaus,
which would have some of these properties. It's being discussed on the
jcontainer-interest mailing list [1]

it would be appropriate to host something of this nature on Apache
hardware, but given the nature of the list I'm sure many of us could
offer resources in that regard.
Anyone else interested in something like this?

Do you think you could create a wiki entry on how you set up your Cocoon
project(s) using maven? I've been thinking about doing this myself, but
would like to see the steps you go through.

Why not host Cocoon on the Windows machine on another port and forward
requests with Apache and mod_jk?

I guess you could 1) Start using the
XMLForm servlet thing on that site, 2) Try to resuscitate the
XMLFormTransformer as a block, with possibly a dependency on the
xmlform.org code, or 3) migrate to JXForms.

Hi, whenever I am on freenode I sit in #cocoon. I use the nick Spline,
for reasons lost in the mists of time.

I've been lurking on #cocoon on irc.freenode.net - there is basically no-one

I agree with you, it seems redundant to validate the data again.
However, if it is not a performance concern, why not leave it alone?
Extra data vaidation doesn't hurt.
