Thank *you*. Could you please report on this thread the number of the bug?
Apparently this bug is already known (since you reported a new one, then
it's a duplicate)

Carl,
You can export csv directly from MySql. For example:

If you need modified data, it seems to me that the best way to do that is to
1) work out the changes you need to the existing data
2) create a new t

Here I thought that some of the ideas behind opensource was that it would
promote
better/some kind of standards.
It's ok though. There are greater problems out there then lack of
Just a follow up. This worked with one extra step. After creating the
column as function LOWER(cell content) the resulting column is all
functions and would not filter. By copying over as text it then filtered
correctly. (Probably and easier way to do this, but it was quick and
simple). The ext

Thank you. I have reported the bug as you suggested.

It is Thursday morning. I looked and there were 10 empty files in the
backup directory from 10:49 pm to 10:50 pm. When I tried to bring the
database down this morning, it would not come down - Starter was not
responding. I waited several times to see if it would clear up and
end. Nothing.
hi :)
There is a way of installing multiple versions of LibreOffice
alongside each other "in parallel"
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel
It's not quite straight-forwards but hopefully the wiki-guide there
makes it easier. The main thing to avoid is having 2 versions open
Hi :)
Blimey!! Good work doing all that! Sounds like a bit of a nightmare!
It is really disturbing that the 4.1.4 doesn't work but the 4.1.1
does. We don't normally get that type of regression. We do
occasionally get a regression in a newer branch, such as the 4.2.0

On 1 or 2 you need to the URL/path to the database, the port used if not
the default (3306) and the log in credentials. The procedure with Base
is the same. If you are do basic read/writes to the database then option
1 is desired. If you are doing development work Option 2 is highly

Tom,
Let me clarify what I need to do. I need the raw data to move to a new
relational database. I'm not planning on having them work directly on
spreadsheets. The data will go into Salesforce, but I don't know how to
get the raw SQL data into Salesforce with the changes I need to make to

Dear Tom and Pedro,
It will be a pleasure to test with builds 4.1.2.3, 4.1.3.2 and 4.2.0 and
formally report a bug as well. I'll keep you posted.

Hi :)
Hmmm, actually i've only just realised that a 2nd grab from the
'proprietary' back-end data-tables might not be such a nightmare.
Just keep a copy of the current export as it is so that the new grab
can be compared against it. Any differences could then be added to
the data-tables held fairl
Hi :)
This mailing list might be able to help you migrate your existing
tables to an external back-end. There was a looong thread about this
a few years ago when Ian (err can't remember his surname [hangs head
in shame]). It is roughly what i hope to do = start with the internal
back-end and then

Hi :)
Thanks :) I guess that is part of my question. The original back-end
of the database in this case is MySql/MariaDb. Base can normally use
MySql/MariaDb as it's own back-end so there would seem to be 2
different routes that might be worth considering;
1. Attach Base directly to the existi

Between your current 4.1.1.2 and the latest 4.1.4.2 you have 4.1.2.3 and
4.1.3.2 which you can get from here

Dear all,
I let LO create a new user profile by renaming the old one.
Unfortunately, it didn't work. This was rather expected, because, as I
said, the problem appeared in both user accounts (administrator,
standard user), so we have to assume that something has corrupted both
user accounts at
