Try this,
use a text editor, like Kate [KDE] or some other one that is only a text
editor.
If it is read as a one word per line, then save it as a .txt file -
maybe Text [encoded] .txt file.
That should make sure the file keeps a single word per line file. Then
just rename it back to a .d

Keep in mind that in OSX Lion, the /Library folder is hidden

I found the standard.dic is in wordbook under
home/"user"/.config/libreoffice/3/user/wordbook The path is for Linux
but I think the Mac uses a similar path. Note t
