The Kannel RedHat RPM is old and probably was not created that well in the first
place. RedHat itself is noturious for those dependency problems as they tend to change
the provides on their library RPMs w/o notice, and sometimes w/o updating the RPM
macros that determine dependencies.

Did you install mysql from source in stead of rpm?
In that case, you can safely use the --force option of rpm.
