hi all,
freebsd has this thing called newsyslog (not sure what the linux
equivalent is) which rotates your log files when they reach a certain
size. i'm finding that, once a log file has been rotated, the new log file
is always empty. it would appear that kannel doesn't like the rotation,

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to receive full sent message from the dlr. I am
getting dlrs but in that the message is only 20 bytes., I want to receive
full message in the dlr? How to do it?
Thanks in advance,

Tushar,
What's in the DLR message wise actually depends on your provider. On
some of my connections the DLR actually contains none of the original
message.
What you need to do is specify a custom dlr-url when you submit a
message, this would contain an id for the message you sent, then wh

Wish you all great success.
I am new to kannel.
Just I have downloaded and compiled the gateway1.4.1., with the help of

But I am not clear how to use the kannel to send sms via internet with out

Read chapter 6 in Kannel user's guide.
You need to connect to a GSM gateway (GSM modem, mobile phone, SMPP
provider, etc) in order to send the message to mobile.

Tushar,
Thats because the ID you are getting is the ID of the DLR its self.
There is no way to get the id of the original message. You must
provide your own ID into the dlr-url field when you submit a message.

Please keep the list copied in, other people can't offer any help if
you don't ask them as well.
When you send a message, make an ID up, either use a UUID or keep a
rolling number that you increment each time you send a message.
Append this to your dlr-url when you submit the mess

The equivalent on Fedora is logrotate, but also it doesn't work with

No you don't have to restart Kannel.
You just have to instruct newsyslog to send SIGHUP to Kannel when it rotates
the logs.

Hi, All
Right now I'm using kannel with latest CVS running on Fedora Core 6.

Of course we have, but take into account:
1. Why should I want to waste bandwidth and hit the original poster

Unless the maillist is being very dumb it will maintain the same

Thanks for your reply.
I tried using procedure (available in the user guide) for TCP/IP i.e.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response.
This panic occurred after sending just 1 SMS with one DLR.
I've tested compiled kannel using --with-malloc while configuring.
The result is kannel just HANG(it can't received or delivered message
