I have nothing but problems with using it.

desktop manager, I can no longer see the desktop in other
workspaces that I created, except workspace 1.

There's nothing to say that you have to use Gnome if you use Fedora.
Try installing and using a different DE and see

Linux Mint seems to be the only distro that has had
a sane reaction to GNOME 3.
