Most everything seems to be functioning as well as always.
Improvement: x2go finally sees all the fonts without me
having to beat on it.
The bugs:
NIS users can't login:

Haven't found a work around for this yet.

Is there anything analogous to bootchart but
which works on the period between entering your
password and either getting a shell prompt (for
a CLI login) or a ready desktop environment (for

Hey! I just found the problem. The XOAUTH2 is what doesn't work.
I finally discovered the smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter parameter
and set it to just login, and the mail is flowing again.
Since oauth2 was invented
I had postfix setup to relay all the mail from my
desktop to the stoopid office365 server we are forced
to use at work. It worked fine on fedora 27.
Now, with everything configured identically

Hi
did an upgrade to F28 on my brothers box.
All went smooth.
Problem now: Nautilus is unable to start.
did a nautilus -c on command line with user account: nothing
starting nautilus with root account from command line: nautilus starts
reinstalling all nautilus packages doesn't fix it.
Ideas ?
maybe, like in my case, the external monitor is being used as an extension of
your built-in LCD display? so it appears blank.
my Cinnamon crashes after i login but thankfully it restarts fine. never
checked further as i switched to KDE Plasma due to some other reasons.
