This is strange. The opposite is true. OpenOffice 4.0.1 is the last
supported version on Mac OS X 10.6.x or lower. The new OpenOffice 4.1.0

Hello,
As I understand it, version 4.1.0 should run on Mac OSX 10.6.8. However,
when I try
to run the program, I receive an error message saying it only works with
10.7 and above;
clicking the OK button leaves me in Nowhere Land.
What's the real story? *:-)*

Thank you Juergen Schmidt.
OpenOffice software is impressive; both the download and the installation
were totally seamless and easy to do. This software is a pleasure to work
with.

Dear Jürgen,
I downloaded AOO 4.1.0 and after installation of the full product, nothing
worked...
I used Firefox for the download (not Internet Explorer, which causes so
much trouble these days).
I have it uninstalled as completely as I can. Later today I'll give it
another try.
Kind regards,

Hello Jürgen: I'm curious to know about, why last March 27th I got an
update release of Apache Open Office 4.1.0 (it was a bit over 140 Mb) and

Is there a GB pack install for AOO 4.1.0? I am keen to take advantage of the
64 bit capability for the Mac OS of the latest release but need the GB version.
Thanks

Please just to be sure:
This is now (29.04.2014 13:50 MESZ) official?
If so (I think this is so)
I just downloaded the latest Open Office but my OSX Maverick system tells
me I am not allowed to open it because it's from an unauthorized developer.
Yet I have been using the previous version of Open Office. Can this be
fixed? If not, can I download the previous version of Open Office?
Thank you
