What was the file name with extension. If the file extension is wrong,
most programs open it incorrectly.

Are you working with ODF? This is important since using DOC or DOCX might
be lost in convertion, specially if you are using some odd content in the
document (like flash inserts or something similar) also known as binary
objects.
