Sounds strange. I've not had any corruption problems with .ods files at all. One thing you can do it to unzip the file and have a look at 'content.xml' (since .ods is compressed xml files). You should be able to see what is in the file... You may even do a search for what is causing the error and

To whom it may concern: I have gone into the Help menu at least a dozen times to try and do end notes. One would think this a rather simple operation. The menu directs me to things that are not in my program. I follow the directions for doing end notes, and it won't work. Any thoughts?
