It's absolutely not OK.
Do you try the another install source?
What I practice:
Boot from Default Ubuntu 12.04.2 install CD, select expert install with
F6 on the boot menu, and choose the normal install, not the minimal.
Set up lang, keyboard, network, partitioning disk(s), set up install
It'll still be a VM but it'll be a standard x86 server install instead
of a minimal. That'll take awhile so I'll post the results later. I'll
fetch the latest config.tgz unless told to do otherwise.

Drag and drop will not copy records, it is only used for moving records. Try
context menu copy to method (right click).

Is that documented behavior for SOGo? I have never heard of that before.
In any case you need to try to copy the records using a different method than
you have used before. This will help you determine if this is ui problem or a
permissions problem. So please right click a record or otherwise
