I'm not sure what state but I doubt we have that law in NY. I routinely get
measured in kg and m but many specialties will still do it in English. I have
seen it all ways. Sometimes they do it in metric and use a chart to write it in
English and vise versa. I'll have to ask my Dr. about it

Remember that the pipe sizes are really nominal pipe sizes and the actual
inside diameter is probably not exactly either of the dimensions shown. It’s
more of a label to ensure similar pipes fit together. When we converted to
metric we just changed our pip labels to NPS since US industry was
I went into Two Guys about 1976 ish (I think I was 16, must have been since I
drove there and had my license) and saw a socket wrench set. It was on sale
for $14.99 but the price sticker (back when they still used them) said $4.99.
They sold it to me for that price and I got quite a bargain.
When most of the worlds pilots use metric and only ours do not, it says more
about us than it does any alleged the actual error.
