We have been fighting with windows 2k8 64bit guest performance on
virtual box linux host for about a week now. The behaviour we see
is that the guest system slows down dramatically after running for
a few hours.
We tried kernel upgrades on the host (up to 2.6.32.2 with 250 Hz

yes ... although I have not tested this with 3.0.12 (only with
3.1.2) ... unfortunately this is a production system so the testing
possibilities are rather limited and the tension is rather high ...

queries) is around the third of the native(non-virt) generally, i am
wondering if this is acceptable
