Updated to vbox 1.6 on my winXP.
Had a previous guest of FC 8 which
I was using with vbox 1.5.x.
This is the first time that I chnaged
theVM configuration to add 2 shares to it.
Both shares are the root dirs of windows
disks: f:\ and g:\
The share names were set to f and g respectivel
I can't mmount a shared folder with vbox 2.2 (Vista host, assorted Linux
guests including openSUSE 11.1 and Xubuntu 9.04, PUEL).
GAs build OK.
mount.vboxsf says 'protocol error' though. (It does run though, its not
as if the GA installation lied)

Again I want to ask about shared folders. In my case it doesn't work.
I installed Windows XP Sp2 as guest on Ubunutu Dapper host system.
Installation went fine, NAT is available and working.
I want to access local files and think shared folders is the way to go

guest. If I try to copy large files from the shared folder or run some
software installer from it, Windows guest crashes and reboots. This
used to happen with 1.3.6, but not is seems to be happening more

I was wondering (again) if anyone has managed to get Shared Folders
working with a Windows 2000 Pro guest on a Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) host
(or even *knows* of it working). I recently upgraded to the beta-3
release and I still can't get it to work :(

Hi,
It's working for me (with Beta2). But nobody can use Shared folder
with Beta3. It's a bug. See the forum.

According to the product help and cross-verification, I see that
'Shared Folder's feature is not usable on the Open Solaris distro-
Indiana.

if I log in on my guest OS W2k as a normal user, I can't see any of my shares
in the Windows explorer in "Virtual Box shared folders".
If I log in as Admin it works OK. Once I was logged in as Admin, I can also
see the shares as a normal user.
How could this be fixed?
