You are right, the cuttingmark problem has been fixed.
But sometimes i see the broken behaviour when using the pc keyboard for
cutting and mooving marks quickly.
The other mentioned things are problems of the current cvs.

almost hapy with it.
I think the better approach was the softdevice plugin which was more
easy to install and depends only on libavcodec.
The xinelib is a big library and many plugins and other output devices
