correct and the same), then I would start by removing clients and re-adding
them.
Its not easy to identify a corrupt policy - the only way I have
personally found to get around the issue is to create a new one. You could also

I've just double checked, on a machine that
conveniently failed it's backups last night.. :-)
The job in question was a single stream of a multi
stream backup, which had failed with an error 156. The job was "Done", not
suspended. The window closed at 6am this morning.

restarted by choosing a stream that failed and right clicking on it and
selecting "restart job" ?

bpduplicate will be your friend on this, just make sure you set the global
parameters as far as how many copies you can have of an image
bpconfig -max_copies 3
...or what ever. Not sure what you mean by merge the copy 3 tapes
in.

What version of NBU ... the early Calendar based jobs (4.5ish) had some bugs with the logic.
As far as having Calendar based schedules crossing midnight you should not do that. I don't think its goofy, it just defats the purpose of Calendar based Schedules. You told NBU that you want it to run on a

check. For some reason deleting and recreating policy does seem to work. I
wish there was a way I knew of to check for policy corruption. That would be a

After upgrading from 5.1 to 6.0, the drives that were DOWN now show up as
missing? I can manually add it and up it but then it goes DOWN and missing
again, is this just how it looks in 6.0 when a drive goes down?
The second drive (06) was up before and after the upgrade.

Could be wrong but if I recall, the 163 was meant to indicate the
installation may not have completed ok or the services have not started
correctly (Daemons in your case).

Yes there is that, although the renewal process for DHCP should mean that
this may not happen.
Even so, as mentioned before, an exclusion should be in place for Servers
ideally!

knew there was something I forgot! and if this still does not work... try
creating a new Policy. I have definetely seen a corrupt policy where nothing
would run, but re-creating has solved it!
