Sure does make a vlog look empty with no video or graphics. :)
But, I'm very confident that Michael and the whole Blip.tv team are
working feverishly to make things right.

Guys, sorry about that! We had a problem in the overnight hours.
I've posted about it to the blog:

Basically, we had a problem with DNS. It was an inconsistent problem,
and started becoming a problem in the middle of the night. We've

According to all our diagnostic systems and reports, we were up last
night, and haven't had downtime in some time. It looks like there
were Internet networking issues that may have caused blip to be
unavailable for some people for some period of time.
The best example of this is blip working for
I hate it when that happens, too! I'll get out there and try to find
Chicago...
:-) Looks like this was indeed a networking issue outside our
control. But, as I said in my reply to Josh, we're looking into it.

Hey David,
We can suppport quite a few concurrent viewers for a 20mb viewer :)
Our infrastructure includes two collocation facilities in New York
City (we'll soon be adding a third in California) with excellent,
burstable bandwidth. In terms of servers, we have about a dozen of
them, including
Ya...I went and flicked that light switch in my living room on again
before I went to bed last night. *poof* Chicago reappeared.
I guess I will have to put a piece of tape over that switch now to
make sure I dont do that again.

Does anyone have technical information on Blip? What kind of
bandwidth do they have? How many concurrent users can the support to
view a 20mb video? The service they are offering is amazing. But it
might also cost a pretty penny to provide. I'd like to know what
their infrastructure is?
