Calling macvim from .slrnrc

In my slrnrc I have set editor_command "vim '+set tw=72' +%d '%s'" which works fine when I am sshed into the server and I get the CLI/Term version of vim. However, when I am on the local machine, as soon as MacVim opens the file, slrn reaqctivates saying the file was not changed. I am calling

Colors only in gvim

I asked this in vim-use, but only got a reply asking what was in .vimrc and .,gvimrc, neither of which I have, so I thought maybe this might be a Mac question after all. When I run gvim, I get syntax coloring all over the place, even in USENET posting all the headers and quotes and signatures

External Editor

Spellchecking in CLI version

I figured out how to turn on spell checking in the CLI version of MacVim (add set spell to the vimrc). However, I cannot figure out how do do things like move to the next misspelt word, or get a list of suggestions. Is this possible in the CLI version? -- 'What shall we do?' said Twoflower. '

When I try to add a word to the word list, I get the following error: E484: Can't open file long/path/vim/runtime/spell/en.utf-8.add sure enough, that file (and en.utf-8.add.spl) are owned by root. Can I safely chown them to me? (the application is in ~/Applications/) :wq er.. oops --

I created a .vim color theme file and placed it in ~/.vim/ but it is not accessible from the Edit -> Color Scheme menu. Where am I supposed to put the file so that it can be selected from this menu? -- [...] a vital ingredient of success is not knowing that what you're attempting can't be done.
