Mac to VGA adapter

2023-10-24 Thread peteru...@gmail.com
I once had an adapter allowing my beige G3 to use a modern flatscreen. However, it appears to have been lost during moving. Does anybody know where to find such a device? I live in Norway, and the vintage Mac milieu israther small… -- -- - You received this message because you are a member

Zip 250 w/o PSU given away

2017-12-18 Thread peteru...@gmail.com
I’m giving away a Zip/250 for p&p (should amount to ≈ USD 10). If you live in the U.S.A, you’ll need to make your own PSU for 110 volts. I might have a spare for 220 volts (I haven’t scoured my basement thoroughly yet…). It ligths up, but spat my Zip-100 out again, even though it’s supposed to

Thanks for your succinct reply! The one I use now clicks less before the disks mount. 5–6 clicks, perhaps, whereas the "old" one would keep clicking until at least one reboot of the Mac… I do actually somewhere have the original internal Zip that came with this model of G3, put i pulled it out i

Found an easier way around (for those cases when files are not compressed with DDexpand & have to be extracted first in OS9…): Merely turn file sharing on for the inserted & mounted Zip-disk, go to File Sharing in 10.5, enter the G3’s AFP-address & mount the Zip as a shared volume. Easy as pie.

So, I should (could) try to repeat the procedure, and try to install 5.0 on the rather recalcitrant iBook thru the use of the (half-dead) PowerBook? Reminds me of how I got High Sierra onto the disk that would not boot, because (I found out later) a defunct HD cable? With the use of a "disk dri

It did work, although I had to boot in 10.4, select the FireWire-disk (once it had mounted…) as StartUp Disk. I couldn’t believe my own eyes when a Desktop i hadn’t seen for, maybe 5 years, came to life on the iBook screen! So: Now I have PB G4 running as a "slave" disk on the iBook… Now, should
