My experience is the opposite. Every SCSI drive I ever tried worked fine
with my Mac Plus.
If you are having problems reading a SCSI drive, make sure that you have a
terminator on the drive, but only if the drive does not supply its own.

That will be a nightmare to the electronics like the motherboard with the
potential static buildup and what not. Plus packing peanuts will not be
enough to protect the CRT from damage. The CRT needs to be kept stationary
