Can you connect directly from the IIci to the DSL modem and establish a connection? I have heard of a lot of problems between Macs and DSL modems based on the fact that they use a PPP protocol rather than a simple ethernet connection. If that is the case, the problem may not be the Asante card

I see a number of Asante hubs on eBay that look like they could be had for anywhere from $6 up to $20 (including shipping charges). Am I correct in assuming that a hub like the Asante FH10T8, which is not a 10/100 sensing hub, would work? Or is the number of ports an issue? I'm wary because the e

To avoid those auto sensing problems, one needs to put a relatively old 10 mbit hub between the computer with the IIci and the router/switch. With a modern 100 mbit hub the problem won't go away. Marten -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by and... Small Dog Electronicsh

Hello list, I posted awhile back with the same problem but I have yet to resolve it: I have a Mac IIci with a MacCon nubus ethernet card from Asante. It also has a Radius card in one of the other Nubus slots. The machine is running 7.5.5 and I installed the open transport I downloaded from A
