The LC 520 and some of the LC 550 series used a
CD-ROM drive that requires Sony type CD caddies.
The Performa 550 used a tray load drive and the LC

The caddies are about the size of a CD jewel box,
have a flip open clear lid and s sliding meta

I believe you need a carrier for the CD-ROM. That is the item actually
called the "caddy". The label on the door is telling you where to insert
the caddy containing the CD-ROM. It looks like an over-sized, see-through
3.5 floppy. My external AppleCD 300 (Family Number: M3023) has the same
door and
