Hmm, I use the light probe app every day and it does indicate varying strengths of light and locations by using a different pitch. You can also tap the screen anywhere while the app is running and it will tell you what percentage of light it's detecting. Zero through 10% is the lowest pitch

if you have an iPhone, there is an app for that. :) its called light detector. I use it to determine if the recharge stand for my radios is working, the control for the electric blanket and even if there is a light on in the room. its been handy, although it doesn't see a lot of use. -eric On
