I'm not sure what to make of the new iTunes. I haven't been following the
discussions, because I wanted to explore it on my own for awhile.
My thought is that if there are no keyboard shortcuts for the new interface,
then it means a lot of navigational keystrokes to find what you want,

It's THREE interactions with VO to get to the individual tracks in the grid. I
don't care so much about the actual columns themselves, but I don't want to
have to VO interact three times to start my book back up at the right place.

How can you get the old pre-iTunes 11 sidebar and column browser, Mary? The new
iTunes 11 has not won me over yet. In fact, at present I am struggling and
continue to be worried that things are not necessarily improving but require

As has been mentioned, so you may have seen this by now, you can get the
sidebar back by pressing command option s. Then command b to get the column
browser.

I just checked this and as far as I can tell nothing has changed regarding
this. I went to the list view of all the songs in my music library and
pressed "Control+I" on a song for "Get Info". I then arrowed to the
"Options" tab and then tabbed 3 times until I heard Jaws say "Media Kind".
Press Command I after selecting all the individual tracks of the audio book
you've imported, and press Command I for info, and select the Options tab. You
can set it as an audio book from there.
