Subject: Re: Braille input problem in Mail app
Thanks, Brian!
You are right: when the Orbit refuses to recognise the command for capitals or
numbers, I can reach over to use the on-screen keyboard on my iPhone XS, which
does suggest it is an Orbit firmware bug.
I will get Orbit onto it!

Thanks, Richard!boddly, your instructions worked a treat on my iPad iOS 12.2
beta, but when I tried on my iPhone iOS 12.1.3 that did not work and in the
process of adjusting the settings on the iPhone, the Orbit Reader became
utterly unresponsive: the iPhone declared. It was connected, but no ke
Hello again,
You need you braille settings on the iPhone to be on contracted, not 6 dot. At
least, that is my setting and I'm not having the issue.
PS. Apple's accessibility is 1-877-204-3930. Brian had it as 3039 at the end.

Hello,
I am writing this on my Orbit Reader 20, running version 57 and my iPhone SE
running iOS 12.1.3.
As you can tell if you read by letter I'm having no issues with number signs or

Could anyone who uses a Braille keyboard let me know if they have problems
getting capital letters or numbers when replying to an email in the Mail app
using iOS 12.1.3 or the beta of iOS 12.2? I’ve just borrowed a BraillePen Slim

Dear Harry & List:
Check with Apple Disability Support (877) 204-3039. Also with the makers of the
Orbit. First thing to check is can you use the on-screen keyboard of your phone
or IPad to enter a capital letter. If you can, it is an Orbit problem. Let the
Orbit people know you tried the pho
Hi, Tom!
I’ve checked and my iPhone is set to UEB six dot. Curious how it is now only
when replying to emails that the problem now arises with capital letters and
numbers!
Mysteries, mysteries...
Thanks

thanks, tom and anna! i have narrowed the problem down to just one area which
is that when i reply to an email, as i am doing now, i cannot get capital
letters nor numbers. i can get them when i compose or forward an email but not
when i reply! today all other apps are working fine with the orbi
Hi,
This is just a wild guess, but it may be possible that you inadvertently issued
some command from your Orbit Reader that changed your Braille input. I did that
once a long time ago and it caused me all kinds of trouble when trying to do
things like log into my banking app. For that reason I
