Cool, I thought maybe it was used for diagnostic data or something
(which would have been perfectly reasonable. :) It's nothing I was
worried about, I just wanted to know what it was used for.)

Grant,
Originally we had it in there for future features, however, after reviewing
it we decided to pull it out on the next update. So don't worry, we don't
do anything with your location. In the next update, 1.3, that should come
out this month you will not be asked to turn your location on.
Jonathan,
At the moment there is no way to "force crowdsourcing." However, that's
something that we'll make a note of for the future. We want to keep the app
simple and easy to use. That was our main goal, to keep it as simple as
possible.
You're welcome. Glad to help!

Alex,
After you click to take a picture does the app say "Picture 1 Take" or any
other number for that matter?

Jonathan,
It works automatically, however, as we continue forward with TapTapSee,
we're definitely looking for ways to improve the app itself, as well as the
technology behind it. So to answer your question, something like that may
become possible in the future, but not at the moment.

I have also tried this app and the first time got a really good response of a

Lauren,
It is a combination of a database algorithm and crowdsourcing. The image
does not always go to a human for identification. We have a complex
technology behind TapTapSee.
I actually work for the company that developed TapTapSee.

Hi Lauren, do you have a source for this information? I have a feeling crowd
sourcing may be used in some situations, however I'm also pretty confident,
because of the speed of some results, that it is using some of the same object
recognition database sources as Omoby and Vizwiz.
