Maybe your microphone is dirty or defective, I have no issues with Siri
understanding me, last night I wanted her to do a conversion and my wife was
already sleeping and while I held the iPhone quite close to me I basically
whispered it to Siri and my request

My new SE 2020 is working fine in that regard too. Although I really don't like
the new Siri start sound, I can barely hear it since it's so low and quiet.

I've never called 911 with my iPhone 8. I just hold down the power button for
a couple seconds and I slide my finger down until I hear close. I've never
seen anything about calling 911. I've also never heard of holdin
screaming up
the hill to my house but thankfully, no one showed up.

I believe you can yes,
I know Nokia use to allow this so that you knew who was calling or which number
was being rung.
