Apple Maps will have turn by turn walking directions in iOS 7. I
wonder how the Seeing Eye app will be really different from that
experience. Chicago has loads of one-way streets so turn by turn
driving directions have limited value.
I would
arket before tackling other markets.

Hi Rose,
I would check Applevis every now and then to see if somebody did a
comprehensive Podcast on Seeing Eye GPS, I am sure there will be one sooner
rather than later, but keep in mind that the app was only released yesterday
and
vigon or TomTom, which are paid.

That was my whole point. People seem to be considering my message testing I
want something for nothing. That is bullshit. Pardon the language.

Eric,
I understand what you're saying about the desire to have all the features at
the version 1.0 level. But that is simply not realistic. Apple or not Apple,
1.0 apps are not mature, and they never have the same feature set as more
mature apps. This app does things no other gps app on ios doe
Thank you, Sieghard, for your common sense analysis here. It always amazes me
how many of our community think they should get a free app that meets their
specialized needs. How do you all who call "greed" suppose that the people who
work on these things full time should feed their families? This
would hazard a guess and predict that Sendero
will be pretty successful with the Seeing Eye app.

I'm sure some will check out the trial and decide to move on and just
use their existing tools. That's the whole point of a trial period. For
my part, I'm going to need a trial period or a very good demo/review
before I'd purchase such an app.
Just because you can accomplish something similar
Yes, with a combination of apps, I am sure you could accomplish close to the
same results as with the Seeing Eye app. But considering the battery usage of
most GPS apps, I doubt you would get very far.

Or, maybe they wouldn't. Maybe the potential buyers would discover that they
can do, with the apps they already have, what the Sendaro app can do, but they
don't have to pay that subscription fee on and on.

I don't understand this message or it's point. I also don't think I've
seen any behavior that's unique to blind people or Apple users. How do
you think a new product, it's features, it's future and people's wish
list items should be discussed on this list?

I agree a free demo or subscription plan is a good idea, but I would in
no way compare this app and it's price to JAWS or HW/SW GPS systems made

Not a lot of folks have $70 or $130 to spend on this product. This is a bad
risk to take, and we all know what it is like when a product is not live up to
expectations. I'm not saying this one will not, I'm just saying we have seen
too much of that already. JAWS anyone?

I wrote to them, expressing my interest in a six dollar a month subscription.
This would let people with low income use the app as money permitted, would let
people download the app for an entire month, and would still be more money
