Hi, I have experience it. I don't think that it's related to Braille Display
spesific, i use the Smart bittle from Hims.

Using a Focus 14 5th Generation I have not experienced any noticeable
lag between it and iPhone
I believe it’s a fifth gen, but can’t remember how to check that.

But to answer your question, you will not lose data if you perform a
reset.
You cannot close apps in the app switcher in iOS 6 using a braille display.You
can close apps from in the app switcher in iOS 7 using a braille display.

You can't, as far as I know. To close apps you must double tap and hold, and
there is no gesture for that. In iOS7 this is possible, because apps are closed
with a three-finger flick up, but not in iOS6 or below.
