Hello Raul,
OK, I just redeemed my $15 card in iTunes (latest update) and Jaws 14
(latest update). I am running all of this on a Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
laptop and I apologize in advance for taking only 1 minute to do this. Here
is what I did:
After I opened iTunes, I tabbed to the iTunes S
There are standard ways to make an app accessible, but two things come
into play here. First, a development team may not take accessibility
into account when first developing there application. Second, following
the standard accessibility guidelines may not provide enough

Hi there Keith and all. The key that was mentioned is the pass-through key in
Jaws, however it is called the bypass key in window eyes. In win
Hi Ari, yes it is frustrating. However I can guarantee that due to the
way software has to interact with the operating system, it's not as easy
as someone would think making sure things work as they should. It would
be nice in an ideal world, but as you know, we don't live in an ideal world.

I totally understand that. It just seemed to me that there are uniform ways of
making things accessible—i.e., labeling buttons and graphics, reporting the
state of alterable controls such as checkboxes and radio buttons, etc. I didn't
really understand why programers would make their stuff speci

Hi there. That is a good question. However let me put it to you this way. Why
don't all pizza makers make their pizza taste the same? The simple reason is
because each pizza maker has their own recipe and they are trying to get ahead.
Making accessible programs for windows or for other platforms
Hi there. I have to kind of tread carefully on this topic because I do not want
to start a screen reader flame war, or a spitting contest between the two
lovers of each screen reader. What I can say for certain is that Apple worked
with GW micro to make sure that iTunes and window eyes are compa

That's the thing I don't really understand. Why do companies make their
products accessible to one screen reader only? How does that work, anyway? If
you make something accessible, shouldn't it follow that it's accessible using
any screen reader? Are't accessible programs accessible in universal
I'm a JAWS user, too, and it seems JAWS is generally not as functional within
iTunes as is Window-Eyes, at least as best I can understand from differing
comments I've heard on this list. And, I believe, Apple's documentation
comments upon its compatibility with Window-Eyes, but is silent with r
Hi Folks,
In the use of Fleksy, I needed to contact the developers and as a result, I
received a refund as a credit to iTunes that I needed to redeem in the iTunes
stores. It worked find and with no hitch.

Hi Raul,
Sorry, never requested an app refund so I can't say, but I assume if the app
was bought using credit from a gift card that it would be put back as
credit. Most places refund using the same method that was used for the
purchase.
I also like the gift card option because it is not that hard
r Jaws saying anything about iTunes, using the latest update probably
won't hurt.

Hello Lois, thanks for that. I'll go try that now and see if I get a
second edit field. OK, I just did and nothing. However this time when I
press enter on the single edit field I hear the Jaws tone indication I'm
in forms mode. I also hear press insert-f1. I type a code in, but I

Okay, I wish I actually had a card. I did try it and did manage to get to
an edit field. I got to redeem, and went to where it said edit. It wasn't
really an edit field though. I then tabbed once, there it said edit, and I
entered into the edit field where I could type. I don't know why it wor
