Yes, the custom notifications at the very bottom is important. In my case it
said that alerts were off. When I turned them on, it showed my sound choice.
What then was happening with me was that when a message came through, I would
get a verbal notification Reading the first line, which I didn’t
It is not a bug.
I get all my email sounds which I have set up for my different accounts.
So, probably everything is not setup right.
Settings, notifications, mail, at the very bottom Customize notifications, then
you have to set alerts and sounds for each mail account from one to whatever.
