I have downloaded the app, but i can't create an account.
I can put in my Email address , but when i double tap on the enter password,
it doesn't seem to do anything.
Hope someone can help.
Dave.

This article is pure link bait. Map apps like Apple Maps or Google
Maps are big battery drains. This also includes the Seeing Eye GPS
app and Blind Square. I also find the Vonage app to be a medium
battery drain and close it when I am not making a phone call.

I recently read an article claiming that closing frequently used apps uses
battery. Actually, reopening those apps uses battery.
If this is even true, I doubt it could be enough to matter in a battery
cycle. It read like someone just trying to meet their
I disconnect Facebook from location services in the privacy settings. I did it
for privacy purposes originally, but battery was a
bonus.

Hello Alan,
What you described is exactly what exists on most of the recent Samsung Android
phones. I find the close all button extremely useful.

I would like to see in the app switcher a close all button forexample in the
lower left hand corner so that one could close all opened apps at once.

Maybe so and maybe no. I have read articles like this before and while this may

My thought is, it can't hurt.

Hmm, I've never heard of this Intelligent Multitasking. perhaps I've just
never noticed, but what apps finish doing something and then close? Does
this mean the app is then removed from the app switcher or that if it is in
there, it's not really running?

Hi. I would imagine that some apps need to be kept running such as GPS apps or
transit apps, assuming you are traveling otherwise it is unnecessary to keep
them running. Walter.

There has been recent comment (in newspaper tech columns) that several users
have found that Facebook doesn't close properly (as when not in use) in
recent versions of the app; that it's also draining the iPhone battery by
constantly updating one's location etc information in the background.
I agree with you on this. I have had in the past where my battery was rundown
until I close something that was running. So has my friend. I can't speak of
recent years since this was a while ago. However, it's not hurting me to waste
10 seconds to close apps.

It can't hurt, but I also don't want to be an "app switcher neat
freak" and close every app each time it is opened. I usually keep my
app switcher with between 10 and 14 apps running at any one time, and
often more like 10 to 12. IMO, too much above that and you are slowing
down your device.
IMHO, I agree with the article that forcing apps to close isn't
necessary all of the time, and I don't do it myself slavishly because it
takes time, and I'd rather have the iPhone manage it's tasks than to
spend my time doing it for IOS. Developers spent a lot of effort and
thought
