Hi Larry,
In the music app, on the bottom of the screen, you should have a series of
tabs, one of which is my music. If you double tap that, you should be in

tell me if the songs were matched or merely uploaded. I can't however seem
to find my music in the music app on my ipad or iphone. I can see all my
purchases and one play list of my ripped cds seems to show and play. Am

Hi All:
For the past six months, I have painstakingly reinstalled over 1600 CD's
onto a new external hard drive in an effort to recreate and clean up my
iTunes library. Unfortunately, a couple of days ago my external drive
completely crashed and is unrecoverable. I am wondering since I just
From what I've read, iTunes Match can do this. That assumes that you signed
into it before the drive crashed, and that the external drive contained your
iTunes library so iTunes could grab and match all those tracks, and that you
didn't hit the 25,000 track maximum. Even if you hit the limit,

Essentially, you just sign into iTunes if you haven't already, and hit the
Match radio button. That should present your media the way Match stored it;
again, it will all be online at first, but you can pull down local copies of

If you just got iTunes Match, it's possible that not all the tracks in your
library have been uploaded or matched yet. Choose Match in the radio buttons
where you can select songs, artists, etc., and then check the LCD section to
see whether music is still being uploaded. If Match isn't an

Hi Sieghard,
Thanks so much for that explanation. It makes perfect sense now. I am a
devotee to folk music, and own music by a number of less known artists. So,
I'm sure that's exactly what happened!

iTunes Match lets you store 25,000 tracks in addition to any that
you buy from the iTunes store. If you play a track that isn't on

Hello Suzanne,
I would head into settingsgeneralCellular, and make sure the
iTunes switch is set to on. Having it off will prevent iTunes Match
content from being downloaded using your cellular data connection to
save on bandwidth.
