one thing to consider is the new Back Tap feature. If you have a newer phone without a home button, you could get the Back Tap double and triple taps to activate the home screen and bring up the app switcher. This would be a way around for anyone who has anxiety with the lack of a home button

Not sure the side button works by pushing the power button. I just tried it, and all I can get it to say from locked screen is 8 notifications. Sure wished it worked. If I want to read my notifications from that screen I unlock. Hmmm! Maybe accessibility needs to get this suggestion. Reggie
