Good tipe about the braille display - thanks! And I am getting better at doing
it from the status bar. But turning orientation lock on and off does not at all
seem to be allowing me to change orientation between portrait and landscape.

You won't find it from the Appl Switcher's app scpeen. To find
this, you need to use three finger swipe right to see gadgets bar
with music controls and the orientation lock button on the bottom
left.
