Emile, SQL Server has a limitation of 2GB per column, not per row. That means for any given column, the total storage size combined for all rows cannot exceed 2GB. Which is already better than SQL Server 2000, which had 2 2GB limit per table. If Virtouso allows 2GB per row, I don't see any
