The problem is not that VNC is bound to any particular NIC, but it is that ICS
is a NAT firewall, which in essence sheilds your internal network from the
internet. NAT technology allows internal networks to share a single external
address, and also functions as a natural firewall to t

Dear All,
If I have a VNC server that is behind several routers and connected through
these routers to the internet, how do I let a client connect from the internet
to that VNC server, or any VNC server that is in a situation like this? Thank
you very much for your attention and consideration!

I've searched the archives but have yet to find a solution to my problem
(if there is a solution).
I'm trying to VNC into a machine that has two NICs and is running ICS.
When ICS is enabled, VNC will only bind to the LAN NIC. Thus, I cannot

Hi All:
I have a query on how VNC picks up the region information to sent to the VNC
client. How does it know of which region is modified. Does it read from the
Framebuffer of the Display or does it use some layer in between to capture
rendering data.
Appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Preetham.

I've been using VNC for a while now. Originally on Windows and now on
Linux. In many cases I've found the option of switching to Fullscreen
invaluable.
During a recent period of heavy development for my preferred window
manager (Blackbox), I meantioned a minor annoyance I'd noticed when using

Please give me answers to the following primitive questions, because I do
not have enough vocabulary to read "documentation" section.
1 Should the server machine be always powered on, if I want to view it
from remote viewer?
2 Should the server be always connected to web, if I want to view it
I had same problem with one of client and at in my home office. I had to
play with the MTU on the Linksys router and change it to 1492 to get this
working at home. And for my client's office, the ISP asked me to change the
MTU 1006 (less than what is recommended by Linsys). But this just to get

That isn't the same thing as hiding the icon; personally, I recommend using reshacker

I have BellSouth ADSL internet access. I've been using VNC to access my

Hi,
I have VNC Server Installed on a WIN2k WS. Has been working fine till a
couple of days ago. If the machine is at the windows logon banner no
password works to access VNC but if the machine is already logged in you
can get into VNC and use it remotely. I am confused as the VNC Service is
