Stephen,
I'm currently using TightVNC, which in my testing has the best performance for
W2K server and Linux viewer. (I haven't tested every variety, however.)
There is a web site specifically for TightVNC, which is:

I believe it has RPMs but it is possible that I

Mostly because VNC was not written to specifically handle windows. Versions
like VNCDACC are pushing us in that direction.
It's also a factor of cost.
In my experience, esvnc/tight are the fastest.

I don't think that it is necessarily true that PC Anywhere is faster than VNC.
Sometimes VNC configuration, for performance, is trickier than PC anywhere,
but when properly configured the performance is comparable. The most recent
version of TightVNC has done well in performance testing.

There is definitely at least one newer release.
I've had good luck recently with the latest release of TightVNC, with the
server on W2K and the client on RH 7.3.

Hi all folks,
I just join this list to experiment VNC on RH7.3. My target is allowing
RH7.3 viewing and navigating WinME and, in parallel, allowing WinME viewing
and navigating RH7.3. Its CDs come with following packages
a) vnc-3.3.3r2-28.i386
b) vnc-server-3,3,3r2-28.i386.rpm
My questions
I have created the key with the value of "0001" for shared sessions as
you suggested, but I still get reset with a subsequent logon.
Do I need to stop and restart the VNC service? Or reboot the server? Am I
missing something here??
Thanks,
David
