Carla,
What pings are you talking about? From the WAN to your PC? or from the PC to
the WAN?
If people on the WAN are trying to ping you , what IP address are they
using - since in all probability you have an IP address that is allocated to
you by your ISP - and (even with DSL) this changes quite

There really haven't been a whole lot of suggestions on this issue. No FIX yet, just
work arounds.
If you disable user switching, I think it will work (you won't be able to log in
simultaniously).

I would like to use VNC to communicate two computers that use
SpeedStream modems, working in ROUTER.
What do I have to do? I think I have to setup up "port forwarding".
Thanks,

Make sure no firewall is running on either machine and test it again. If
you can do a reverse connection, it seems that the host machine is

Is there anyway to embed the viewer into a webpage? Or any way to install the

RealVNC comes with an embedded http server that gives you a java viewer.
I believe when it is enabled it listens on port 5800
So using IE you can connect to a server by typing in
http://youhost.ip.here:5800
It works well.

I should've been a little more clear in my message. This is for a

if you had files you wanted available to your customer on anonymous ftp, you
could just use your customers browser with vnc to go get the files from your

Sounds like the whole point of Trusted Solaris is to stop things like VNC.
I doubt it will be possible to run an x0vncserver on this box unless you
replace its X server with an ordinary Solaris X server (thereby reducing the
security of the system).
They've taken out the XTest extension from the X

No, vnc does not support FTP...
several flavors of vnc (mainly windows version) support an internal file
transfer. I don't know if realvnc supports the file transfer though...

I think not. Why don't you use FTP?

I' m a new user of VNC (I discovered this the other week!). I have a
question, it's possible with VNC to send a file to the server (FTP?)?
This is my question, because I want to use VNC to support my customer.
