Heyaz. I've tried to summarize the known incompatability between VNC and Windows' Terminal Services here: http://faq.gotomyvnc.com/fom-serve/cache/146.html I hope it helps make sense of what many are seeing. -Scott > I'm following this thread, but I'm missing something. > > I'm

WinVNC 4.0 hangs after about 6-7 hours of operation

Dear group: I recently upgraded my WinVNC to version 4.0 Built Jun 15, 2004 on a Windows Me machine. I was somewhat concerned about the upgrade since I had problems with 4.0beta hanging the machine after a period of time, i.e. the screen freezes, the keyboard freezes and I have to reboot the ma

Re: Hidden icon

I'm confused. Isn't this list for RealVNC users only? Or do users of other VNC versions appear here as well? According to the RealVNC website - hiding the icon is impossible: http://www.realvnc.com/faq.html#hide For it to work, you must use a modified client/server. Kenton __

VNC 4 - Why?

2004-08-09 Thread Kenton White
I don't want to be harsh here - but I am starting to get the feeling that VNC 4.0 is a step backward. It seems to have features that were in Version 3.3.x missing and there are a lot of 'it doesn't work' messages on this list. Am I wrong? What are the advantages of using version 4? Kenton

Annie, There are at least two Windows versions of VNC which will transfer files. UltraVNC at ultravnc.sourceforge.net and TightVNC at www.tightvnc.com are the ones I've tried. They are both in beta. Mike >>> Raven Firestorm <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 8/9/2004 1:39:13 PM >>> I'm a new user of VNC a

Hey Annie, If the computers are on a LAN you can simply copy them over. If they are on a WAN then you can either use scpy or rsync. http://www.shadlen.org/sl/linux/remote/scp.htm http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/ -Larry Hoffman - Original Message - From: "Raven Firestorm" <[EMAIL PROTECT

The problem described is only an issue if the session being remoted by VNC is a TS session - this is often the case with the console session when Fast User Switching or Remote Desktop are used under XP. Under 2K3, running a User-Mode VNC Server process inside a TS session and then disconnecting th
