I have the same router and had the same problem. There is a
setting where you can assign a DHCP address to a specific MAC
address. Just get your MAC address with ipconfig and set set the
router

Yes, I also have the WRT54G, and it is terrible that the stock firmware
does not allow me to lock my IP by MAC address. To me, that is basic
functionality that is missing from this router. The only way I have
gotten it to work is to setup a static IP, and bypass the DHCP
