I have a Gentoo vserver set up with vserver-sources-2.2.0,
util-vserver-0.30.213 and baselayout-1.13.0_alpha12
Thus I can use the "gentoo" init-style. Fine so far. Building and using
that vserver is easy; I followed
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/vps/vserver-howto.xml almost exactly.

Well, a manually inserted space has the same effect - if I log via SSH
using putty on my windows machine.

With (finally) a working Tomcat-ebuild I try to emerge tomcat inside a

Is this a vserver issue? A Gentoo problem? What does tomcat need the
kernel sources for, anyway?

Except a vserver-guest is much more easy to make a copy of, diddle with

Hi all,
Using the "sys-cluster/util-vserver-0.30.211_rc2" I no longer have
the "vupdateworld" wrapper script available.
vesync, vemerge and vdispatch-conf are also gone.
Additionally, emerging that ebuild with the USE-Flag
"bash-completion" fails with a

Due to the speed the _rc's occured, we thought that moving those ebuilds to
our project overlay [1] would make sense. The overlay is subversion based,
but you should be able to grab it via wget (or similar) if you can't/wont
install subversion just for this single repo.

Hi all,
When the USE-Flag "minimal" is set for "sys-apps/iproute2", vservers
don't stop, are not accessible via IP, don't send mail etc.
The error message when stopping a vserver is:

I was hoping that util-vserver would provide that by
now, but as far as I know, it still doesn't ...
Isn't that what "vse
