Explorer update hassle

Hi All, Saw the posting about upgrading Explorer to 5.2... Downloaded and installed all's well but when opening sites in mail it asks me to reinstall. If I start Explorer from the Dock it's happy and comes up as version 5.2. What do I need to do to stop it from asking me to install it? Idea
