Am interested in buying a 'hair dryer' DP Mac but don't want to put up with
the noise. (I use 9.2 a lot and I know the next ones will not boot with

to do it? The problem I see with an in-house storage method like IPhoto is
that it is too locked-into Apple. Apple can't sit still with machines or
systems for more than a few months, so that anything they produce quickly

A perplexing issue with OS 10.1.5 finder...
Mostly I view folders/files in list view (the one with columns for
name, date modified, size, ...)
The width of these columns is automatically resized, even if I've
just dragged them to the size I want.
There is no consistency to the resize...

What you are trying to do is fairly standard and there is no reason it
shouldn't work.
Try creating a new network location for your settings on each machine. Make
sure you then select that location from the Apple menu - don't leave it on
Automatic (not sure how the Automatic location work
I've noted this on a couple of computers, both G4 towers.
At boot up the mouse will not respond at all, not slow, not comes
good after a few minutes, just plain old does not respond Mouse
has power as the tracking light is on.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the mouse makes it active again
What we are after is a second hand and relatively cheap graphics card for
our sons 7600. Wee have ram not a lot of HD but the graphics card would let
him play different games
