A friend of mine has a 233 iMac which went kaput a while back (I sold
it to her).
Black screen of death.
The power light comes on, you hear the machine starting but no display.
Someone on this list some time ago suggested it was a 'logic board' or
something to do with the display
I have worn out quite a few letters on the keyboard of my eye Mac - oops
IMac. Can I plug in any USB keyboard like those cheap ones for PCs ? What
is a replacement Apple one worth? Change that. What does an Apple one
cost?

loginwindow process seems to be broken.
When my son logged out things went a bit wrong and on the next restart
the computer boots all the way to the screen with starting

Are you using any mail filter rules? A badly constructed filter rule
could easily do it.

I just want to check out Yellowdog.
It's possible that the 3rd disk is in a format that Toast can't read
but Mac OS X (and presumably YellowDog) can read.

I have a file that is a .dmg file, an installer file that is, but it is
showing up as a text file with a BBedit icon. Can anyone tell me how I
can correct this problem so I can install the .dmg file as it should?

As Nicholas has said the data file is cross platform compatible.
The only thing to remember is that the Windows program wants
