Hi Rick, Sounds very typical of trying to open a "new version" document using a "less new version" of InDesign. Check all the computers for their versions of InDesign CS 1 and CS 2 (i.e. InDesign v3.x.x, v4.x.x, etc.). In the past, there were some versions of the InDesign Updater (all approx 40MB)
