Good morning! It's 6:40 AM on Saturday (Concord, CA.). I am an
electrician by trade. As to the local, it should be some ware in the
Pilbara. I do not know exactly where I will be working. I will be
working out of the union hall. I don't have much control as to which
job I can take.
Thanks, Joe
I downloaded a free one called Compass App. Worth a try.

Eugene

To return to the original questions, my understanding is that nobody
can purchase an iPhone by itself, locked or unlocked, in Australia. I
think you can only buy an iPhone on a contract for phone + data/call
usage. Of course the contracts vary enormously in complexity,
deliberately so, and

Thanks Pete for the advice. I can purchase an iPhone at my local Apple
store. What I do not know, is the iPhone sold here in the states the
same as the iPhone sold in Australia. I have been advised to purchase
an iPhone in Au.
Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe, you can buy iphones in Australia from any Apple store or reseller. I
bought mine locked to Telstra because I already had a Telstra SIM and they have
the best coverage. But, they said it was possible to unlock it if I wanted to
use a different carrier. Regards, Susan.

Hi, does anyone know if the latest version of TechTool Pro is compatible
with 10.5.7? I just had the bad experience of my HD becoming unstable after
installing TTP. I was unable to repair permissions or verify the disk. Then
it refused to mount.
Fortunately I had a bootable backup, only a couple

Yes, the TTP5 version is what everyone's been waiting for with Leopard. It
works with 10.5.5 and above.

The only machines it doesn't work on are the 2009 versions of MacPro and
MacMini. Oh, and 2TB drives or larger.
So yes,

Nathalie, thanks for the showing yesterday at ECU.
The one thing that I got out of it was realising that although, all
along, I thought I was a bit of a MacHead after seeing this I realise
now I only have a mild case of MacHeadiness.

Hi Daniel, then that may mean that my hard drive is going to fall over. At
the moment the restore from backup is still happening, when its finished I
can then see whether the HD itself is at fault. It's a bit scary being so

I have 100's of 35 mm slides and photo prints.
I want to digitise them.
What is the best way of doing this most efficiently and economically?

Speaking from my own (very novice) experience and having faced this
same problem a few years ago, I found the only answer (well the
cheapest) is to buy a very good Epson scanner which will handle slides
and prints, and allocate yourself hours and hours each week to
manually scan
Thanks Eugene. Looks just what I want. I'll try it.
