How to draw a helix?

Hello everyone Can anyone suggest a way to draw a helix (coil spring). I want something like the one at http://www.eldoradosoft.com/images/3pi/track_planning/Helix13.gif but with 5 or 6 turns. I don't have any 3D software, but I do have Adobe Illustrator CS, Inspiration and Omnigraffle.
