Hi John,
Yeah, you nearly got it right … just left out the important bit … shut down the
computer first ;-)
I didn’t think it would have been me who suggested to you to “switch off at
the power point” without first shutting down the computer.
That is a "no no" thing with me, the only time I w
Hi Ronni
That sounds more like it, I nearly got it right.

pressing the startup button”?
Are you sure or did it mention:
1. Shut down

back in.
3. Startup the iMac

Good morning Jon,
It may also pay to check that all the air vents are clear. I periodically go

Hi Jon
Someone in WAMUG gave me the answer to the loud fan problem a while ago and it
works. As soon as you press the start button, if the fan is loud switch off at
the power point and then start again. I don't know why it works. Try it.

The Macintosh needs a USB port. The iPads port contains the USB pins in its
large port on the bottom so that the standard iPad cable will connect to the

The standard cable will allow you to transfer documents also.

iPads, iPhones and iPods have a connection to the computer via their dock
connector, which uses a little cord, supplied, which plugs into your computer's
USB port. You use iTunes to transfer to and from the iPad.

Hi Ronni

link you sent me.
I connected my ipod, hit the option key and 'update' button. It
